Sarah Mary Chadwick writes really beautiful, affecting songs. Her live show is so confronting and honest that I have witnessed people go through the seven stages of grief with her, just watching the show. I shit you not. I truly believe she’s one of the best writers in Melbourne, and that listening to her music is an immersive, emotionally demanding, and ultimately hugely rewarding experience. Tell me that there isn’t a better distillation of the process and mental state associated with a relationship breakdown/break-up than her album “Eating For Two“. OK, maybe “Blood On The Tracks“. High praise! Respeck!

The good news for me (and you) is that Sarah is releasing her 4th album “Roses Always Die” on August 5, through legendary Sydney label, Rice Is Nice. It follows on from 2015’s critically-acclaimed “9 Classic Tracks“.

Until then, check out her new single “Makin’ It Work”…
